Hi.
I would like to thank you for giving us access to this material, which surely would benefit many!
I got here by following Susan Kaiser G. I know a little about Susan because I recently started a formation that deals with emotions and mind states towards balancing them, and two fields sre of interest to me – working with children, and at the other side pf the spectrum, working with people with degenerative illness.
I have a Bs in Mechatronics Engineering, and a MSc in Manufacturing Systems (ITESM-Mexico) though my experience has been, chronologically as an engineering design, test engineer (Agoura Hills, Ca) Managament and Lead Internal Auditor (QC/QA) of a Hemodialysis clinic and lately freelancing through an Engineering Consulting firm. Last but not least, student in Philosophy of Buddhadharma, where I also volunteer with the staff of audio & video. Thanks!

I am a retired teacher who is practicing daily meditation for over 30 years. The last 17 years of my teaching career was as a professional development specialist helping teachers integrate technology into their content area. I worked in a public school system in the Washington DC metro area and I live in Alexandria Virginia. I am curious how today’s adoption of mindfulness and adaptations of traditional meditation practices is proceeding in education. I will be returning to teaching as a substitute as I miss the energy of teachers and students engaged in learning.

Hello, my name is Mariella and I am a middle school Algebra 1 teacher and AVID 7 teacher in Garden Grove, CA. I started incorporating Mindful Wednesday with my AVID 8 students last year using Illumination Institute’s Cirriculum provided in a district training. Late this past school year, I completed the Resilient Mindful Learner Project with the Orange County Department of Education. This training helped me incoporate social and emotional skills practices to reduce stress in my life and the life of my Algebra 1 students. The social and emotional skills we practiced include mindfulness (deep breathing, mindfulness cards), gratitude, empathy, listening to a chime, and imagery. My students loved these practices and how it made them calm down and have less stress. They have also helped me tremendously both professionally and personally.
I look forward to continuing my to learn more about social and emotional skills that will help me and my students with stress reduction!
