Hello, I’m Melissa Adylia Calasanz C-IAYT, from Southern California.
I am an IAYT-Certified Yoga Therapist (International Association of Yoga Therapist), Health Wellness Lifestyle & Movement Educator.
I Created and teach a 12-Week Yoga Therapeutics for Chronic Back Pain, and teach Physician Wellness Mindful Movement Classes at Kaiser Permanente, SCPMG. I recently coached one of our physicians to lead a Mindfulness practice to be filmed for a Women in Medicine TEDTalk. There is so much interest now in mindfulness practices as a complimentary/integrative tool in clinical settings.
I often get asked about teaching mindfulness to children or to teach in schools, but I have no experience working with children who are not aspiring professional dancers. I figured this would be a wonderful resource for me as well as for my clients, students, and colleagues.
I will be sure to pass on quite a bit of this information and links to presenters bios.
Thank you so much for making this information available.

Hi, I am a great advocate of Mindfulness as the backbone for joyful living. I believe that the practice should be taught preschool and incorporated in the lives of every child. Making the right decisions as an adolescent is the basis for a strong and healthy existence. We all search for wellbeing and herein lyes the answer. Peer pressure evaporated when attacked by a centered mind. The need for drugs becomes elective behavior if meditation enters the picture. Save the world by making Mindfullness education as Important to a child’s upbringing as religion. While.teaching Mindfulness parents benefit greatly more so then when reading scripture. I am interested in building affordable Lifestyle communities for people who have chosen this path. Please contact me if you have an interest in living a humble existence among the chosen disciples of Mindfulness as your Lifestyle. Let’s live the life and spread the word together.

Mindfulness training – MBCT/MBSR – 8 week mindfulness programs taught by a mindfulness practitioner who has a daily Mindfulness practice have self compassion Implicit in their courses and the Neff self compassion questionnaire indicates the development of self compassion during these programs. Compassion training does not have to be explicit and cognitive.
I have developed a mindfulness and compassion program based on MBCT/MBSR for 3-9 year old children and have trained teachers in Australia and am just about to take the teacher training online so any one in the world can learn to teach the program to children.
